How to create Table of Contents:
The Table of Contents should appear right after the title page in the document and should be on its own page. To create Table of Contents, we are going to be using both the References and Home Tab.
Start by listing the headings of each section in the document in order. Include only the major titles or main headings in the document first by writing them down vertically on the page.

Once you are done with the major titles and headings, we go to the Reference Tab to create the TOC. For basic school paperwork, we will use Automatic Table.
If the headings or subheadings are change, click on the Table of Contents and choose Update Table. Then Update entire table.
